🏀 Knicks x Wellball: A New Kind of Tournament is Coming to NYC

New York, NY — The energy of New York basketball is colliding with a rising sport for a one-of-a-kind tournament experience. On Saturday, April 12th, Basketball City will host the first-ever Knicks Wellball Tournament, presented by DashPass, bringing fast-paced, team-oriented competition to the heart of Manhattan.

Wellball, a high-octane shooting game that blends precision, endurance, and teamwork, has been quietly building a community across the East Coast. Now, it takes center court with the New York Knicks for a landmark event that invites players of all skill levels to compete for big prizes—and bigger bragging rights.

The Format

This single-elimination tournament welcomes players aged 10 and up, with three divisions to choose from:

• Youth Teams (Ages 10–14) | $100 Entry | Win exclusive Knicks Prize Packs
• Adult Teams (Ages 18+) | $100 Entry | Compete for a $5,000 Grand Prize
• Adult Individuals (Ages 18+) | $50 Entry | Go solo for a $1,500 Grand Prize

All players will receive a custom reversible Knicks Wellball jersey and are guaranteed a minimum of one official game. Sorry, college and pro hoopers—this one’s for the fans.

How It Works

Wellball isn’t just about shooting—it’s about rhythm, hustle, and flow. In team play, groups of 3–4 players take turns shooting from designated spots, grabbing their own rebounds, and passing to the next shooter. The format includes 14 one-minute rounds plus a two-minute bonus round, all focused on scoring baskets under pressure.

Solo players will shoot in 30-second rounds, bringing their own designated passer, with a similar 15-round format and an intense head-to-head feel.
